Do you know that almost eight million people in US suffer from Axillary Hyperhidrosis, generally known as constant and excessive armpit sweating? Nervousness, worries and embarrassment are the most common causes of this problem.

People who suffer from this problem tend to avoid social events like parties, discotheque and many more. The body has the ability to regulate the body temperature through the mechanism of sweating. When sweat evaporates from our skin, the heat from our body is absorbed and is lowered down to its general temperature.

In the case of extreme armpit sweating, the sweat glands of the body produce sweat in greater amounts than the normal. Almost all people who have this condition suffer from tension and anxiety as well. Biologists stated that more stress causes the body for excessive armpit perspiration. Therefore, it is essential not to be obviously conscious of excessive armpit sweating and not to be anxious about it too much. The diet of the person affects under arm sweating as well. Let us say for example, frequent smoking and drinking alcohol also cause underarm sweating.

Also, certain types of foods and drinks like coffee cause excessive armpit sweating. There are different treatments offered to cure Axillary Hyperhidrosis. Let’s take a look at some of the usual ones. Contemporary topical treatments:

Mild cases of extreme armpit sweating could be treated by prescription and OTC antiperspirants. These medicines close the pores on the skin and stop the sweat from reaching the upper skin surface. However, this medication could cause some side effects because of the chemicals that are present. For instance, the use of drugs could lead to dermatitis caused by the chemical named formalin. In addition, for these medicines to work, they need to be used for a long period of time.

Botox injection: The utilization of botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin that is usually known for causing foods to poison, has been permitted by Food and Drug Administration in U.S. for curing excessive armpit sweating. They stop the acetylcholine release.

In botox injection, the patient is given two botox injections. This procedure shows very high success rate. The effect generally shows after 2 to 4 days. However, this is quite an expensive treatment and is not advised for pregnant women and to those who are breast-feeding their child.One more problem is that, the first injection is only effective for 6 months and its effectiveness will reduce gradually while the second injection would work for only 4 months.

Surgery: Extreme armpit sweating could be treated through surgery. However, it must be tried only when the patient does not get the desired outcome from other procedures. You must always take the advice of your doctor when attempting to go through this procedure.

Alternative therapy: If you don’t have enough budget for the treatments mentioned above; there are alternative therapies that could save you from too much expenses. The alternative way of treating excessive sweating is putting the affected part in tap water and a current is passed through it. Of course, this is not advisable for cardiac patients, pregnant women, and epileptic patients.

This procedure does not work for everybody and better methods should be tried first. Excessive armpit sweating is curable. So instead of worrying too much and secluding yourself from social gatherings, consult your physician in order to live without any stigma – fully and freely.

This article shows that the three causes of body odor are associated with diabetes. These conditions and diseases are more likely to cause body odor to the patient with diabetes, at risk of diabetes, or has a family history of diabetes.

Diabetes could produce a body smell which is much more unusual than what you have been used to. It’s never been a good thing to get an unexpected change in body smell unless you have changed your diet or you have been taking foods like eggs, garlic, onions, liver, red meat, fish, processed foods, legumes, fried foods, curry, or spicy foods too much. If you have not changed your diet, but you suddenly developed body odor, consult your physician immediately.

Body odor is commonly described as the smell of perspiration; however, this is not true. In fact, sweat has no smell. Our body produces 2 types of sweat. First one is the eccrine. This is a clear, odorless sweat that is secreted by our body through the eccrine gland. It regulates the temperature of the body.

The second one is the apocrine described as a thicker sweat secreted in the armpit and groin parts by the apocrine gland. This sweat is odorless but when it reacts to bacteria on the surface of the skin, it produces unpleasant odor we all try get rid of.

People also develop bad odor due to poor hygiene or heredity. Diabetes could as well change how your body smells. Sometimes people with diabetes and urinary tract infections can have an unusual kind of body odor. It is like a fruity body smell.

Full blown and not treated diabetes may lead to a condition called ketoacidosis. When this happens, the patient’s skin will taste sweet and produce an instantly recognizable pungent odor. Diabetes may also cause the patient to smell like acetone. This is because of the insulin taken to cure the disease.

To manage your odor, you could practice the ABC’s of any type of body odor action. First, maintain a good hygiene and use soap with antibacterial when you wash. Apply body powder or any antiperspirant to keep your body dry. Keeping the body dry will reduce the amount of sweat produced and lessens production of bacteria on the skin, thereby alleviating body odor. You could as well use deodorants for excessive underarm sweating and rubbing alcohol to kill bacteria on your skin’s surface.

Once again, if you observe sudden sweet smell in urine, skin dryness, tingling feet, or feeling of being thirsty constantly, consult your physician immediately. These are signs and symptoms of diabetes condition. If your body smell changes quickly as well, as mentioned earlier, see your physician as soon as possible.

Body odor may be caused serious health conditions. Apart from poor hygiene, the unpleasant odor of the body may also be due to liver disease, fungal infections, kidney disease, which primarily cause unpleasant groin odor.

If you are taking some strong medications, the smell of these medicines can result into body odor as well. For example, in diabetic patients, they can smell like acetone due to the insulin medication that they take. When you take in alcohol, smoke cigar or cigarette, you will as well have a bad body odor.

Our body also gets unpleasant odor due to cavities, zinc deficiency, toxins and so on. Body odor also has something to do with the food that you eat. Having a balanced diet like getting rid of the foods with too much toxins and taking in the healthy ones could help us prevent unpleasant body smell. However, in most cases, body bad odor is actually related with perspiration in the armpit, feet, hands as well in the groin areas.

Actually sweat doesn’t have any smell at all. What makes it smell unpleasant is when it comes in contact with bacteria and this usually happens when a person doesn’t practice good hygiene. Poor hygiene is the most frequent reason for body odor and groin odor. If you are suffering from these conditions, action must be taken immediately.

You could in fact adopt some common practices to get rid of the unpleasant odor as best as you could. Start by following a basic practice of cleaning the private parts of your body. If you’re a female, wash your private parts with plain soap and warm water at least three times a day. Whenever you are washing your private parts, wash it from the front to the back.. For men, it is as well advisable to wash with plain soap and warm water thrice a day.

One more thing that you must do is to at least have time to get rid of pubic hair. If you don’t want to shave them, you can trim them to a minimum length. This will prevent bacteria from multiplying because pubic hair is where they love to live in and these bacteria easily get trapped by the pubic hair causing bad odor to start from there. Always consider wearing loose and cool clothes.

This would allow free air circulation all over the body and it will permit the unpleasant smell to pass. Cotton underwear and clothes are your best bet in this condition. Make it a habit to change your underwear two or three times a day if possible. Avoid frequent use of panty liners since these will also be the reason for bacteria to multiply. If regularly changing your underwear still gives the unpleasant groin odor, then your underwear may have some sort of smell that has set in.

You could boil your underwear to kill the bacteria or replace it with a new one. These simple ways must help you in getting rid of the unpleasant odor as well as make you feel comfortable and clean. Now for more great ideas to get rid of groin odor, I found this great book just click on the link.

.

Does your child have locker room body smell or a wet sock? Kids normally need to start using a deodorant once they’ve reached the stage of puberty. This stage is between 9 and 14 years of age for boys, and 8 and 13 years of age for girls. However, some children emit noticeable body odor prior to puberty. There are children, even babies that produce more perspiration than usual. This is a condition called hyperhydrosis. They are otherwise healthy except for too much perspiration.

Before you run out and purchase all kinds of perfumes and deodorants for your child, let us first take a look at the causes of child body odor and what could be done to get rid of it.

Body and Sweat Odor

In contrast to popular belief, sweat or perspiration has no smell. Yes, that is certainly true, sweat doesn’t stink. Our body produces 2 kinds of sweat: First is the apocrine, a thick substance that is formed by glands in the scalp, underarm, and groin parts. Next one is the eccrine. This is an odorless, clear sweat that appears on our entire body, performing the important role of regulating the body’s temperature. Body odor would then occur when perspiration is exposed to bacteria on our skin. It is the combination of bacteria and sweat that causes the bad smell. This arises in places wherein sweat could not evaporate easily for instance the genital area or the underarm.

Getting Rid Of Your Child Body Odor

The key to getting rid of most body odors is to restrain the body’s apocrine production and to reduce bacteria on the surface of our skin.

Use anti-bacterial deodorant soap: Use antibacterial soap everyday.

Use acne cleanser: If the above product doesn’t work, use an acne cleanser that has benzoyl peroxide. This has strong anti-bacterial properties; however, be careful because excessive use could cause irritation and drying. You can as well try an anti-bacterial ointment or Neosporin.
Rubbing alcohol: Use rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or witch hazel for extra protection. These could help reduce odor-causing bacteria.

Try a home made deodorant: You can give your child homemade deodorant by mixing equal parts of Aloe Vera, witch hazel, and water. You could also add one teaspoon of glycerin with oil that has good smell. Mix them in a spray bottle.

Antiperspirants: These products are aluminum-based chemicals which plug the pores and stop you from perspiring. However, antiperspirants can cause irritation or dermatitis – swollen, red, itchy skin, especially in children.

Deodorants: Deodorants eradicate the smell of perspiration by neutralizing bacteria. These stuffs do not prevent perspiration, so they should be reapplied to stop the development of bacteria and bad odor. Deodorants and remedies like antibacterial cleansers, rubbing alcohol, or homemade deodorants can be less irritating to the skin of children than antiperspirants.

Daily Bathe: Regular bathing helps decrease the number of bacteria on the skin.

Thoroughly dry the feet after bathing: Bacteria increases in damp places for example between the toes. To absorb moisture, use powders like baking soda, cornstarch, or foot powders.

Wear socks and shoes made up of natural materials: Shoes that are made up of natural materials like leather or net material could help prevent sweaty feet by permitting the feet to breathe.

Change socks often: Change at least once or twice a day.

Wear loose clothing: Wear natural and loose fabrics like cotton, silk, and wool. This allows the skin to breathe.

Laundry detergents: Wash the fabrics with an odor fighting laundry detergent. Change underwear or clothes during the day if necessary.

Eat a well balanced diet: Toxins in the body can produce a bad odor. Eating a balance diet and eliminating waste efficiently will prevent excretions, including feces and urine from bad odor.

In most children, sweating and body odor is not related to any medical
condition. Once you find that your child body odor has a horrible smell, it must be evaluated by a doctor.

.

Body odor refers to the bad or unpleasant smell secreted by the body. The bad smell actually results from the bacteria present on the body, which multiply rapidly when they interact or come in contact with the perspiration or sweat. Body odor is common in some body parts such as feet, hair, skin, groin, armpits, pubic hair, ears, and belly button. Though sweating is often believed to be the main cause of body odor, there are also other reasons or factors that may cause your body to emit a bad smell. Read on and learn about the different causes of body odor.

The cause of body odor actually stems from the temperature regulation system of the body, specifically the sweat glands. There are two types of sweat glands: the eccrine glands and the apocrine glands. The eccrine glands are located in almost all parts of the body, and are directly open to the skin’s surface. The apocrine glands, on the other hand, develop only in areas with hair follicles, such as on your groin, armpits, and scalp.

When the temperature of your body rises, your nervous system automatically stimulates the eccrine glands to release or secrete fluids onto the skin surface to cool the body as it evaporates. This fluid, also called the perspiration, is composed of salt and water and contains the residues of other electrolytes and other substances the help regulate the fluid balance in the body.

On the other hand, the apocrine glands secrete or release a fatty sweat directly into the gland’s tubule. When you are stressed or under extreme emotions, the tubule’s wall contracts; thereby, pushing the sweat to the skin’s surface where the bacteria living in that area start breaking it down. Usually, it’s the breakdown of the bacteria that causes the bad odor.

Here are the other causes of body odor:

Alcohol;

Smoking

Strong medicines;

Diseases, like liver and kidney problems etc.;

Skin problems;

Stress;

Fungal infection;

Weak metabolism;

Gastrointestinal problems;

Zinc deficiency

Bacterial growth;

Heredity factors;

Poor hygiene;

Certain foods and beverages;

Low level of male hormones;

Menopause;

Fever;

Hypoglycemia;

Hyperthyroidism

Body Odor Symptoms

Giving off unpleasant or bad smell is the only symptom of body odor and this happens whenever a person is sweating. Often times, a person experienced excessive sweating when the weather is too hot or warm or when he is under extreme emotions such as when he is anxious or nervous. Bad odor may also be experienced after strenuous activities. The smell may vary from one individual to another and though the small may disappear after a bath or shower, it may immediately come back especially if the person puts back unwashed clothes.

.

Excessive underarm sweating is a common problem of many people around the world. While it is believed that excessive underarm sweating begins at the puberty stage, the sweat glands of adults may produce excessive underarm sweat as a result of health and stress related factors. Those who sweat excessively are actually aware of it but they try in vain to hide this problem by using different products that actually do not work.

While there are many antiperspirant products available in the market, these products are simply not effective for everyone. Those who have excessive underarm sweat know that while antiperspirant products may be effective for a short time, they will still have an embarrassing day because the stains will definitely be there. Some even choose to wear underarm pads or multiple shirts to absorb the sweat; but pads and multiple shirts can be bulky and very uncomfortable.
Attempts to hide or cover up the problem are not the best way to go.

Thus, at the end of the day, people with this condition are still finding ways on how to stop underarm sweat. If you are suffering from this condition, it is necessary that you understand where your excessive sweat is coming from. Do you know that excessive sweat is triggered by the bacteria living in your armpit? Yes – there are deodorant soaps, powder, and cream that you think can help you stop underarm sweat but the truth is, there are a lot of these products that can even contribute to the bacteria living in your armpit, thereby, making your problem even worse. While taking a shower or bathing is important, it is also important to choose the shower gel or soap to use.

As a matter of fact, this condition can be solved through natural methods; although, not all the methods work as they should. Understanding the causes of your excessive underarm sweating as well as which products you are using that could actually worsen your condition is very important. Some people resort to medical help by consulting their physicians. Of course as expected, the physician will require you to take medications. However, some people do not feel comfortable about it.

The best way to stop underarm sweat is to choose a natural or an alternative method. Wearing too bulky underarm pads or multiple shirts or using too much deodorant or other antiperspirant products is simply not the remedy for excessive sweating.

Yes – you can hide your problem for a short time but ultimately, you will end up sweating and perspiring even more due to the deodorant’s ingredients or bulk of clothing. Choosing a natural method is simply a better choice. There are many ways to stop underarm sweat. Some of them can be found online and the good news is that these methods won’t even require you to take pills or other harmful chemicals that could only make your conditions worse.

Everyday, life is getting tougher for us due to different reasons, be it the climate, social troubles or professional woes. How is this related to an article about perspiration?

Well all of the said factors cause you to sweat big time. And many of us sweat much more causing us to encounter embarrassing social circumstances particularly with excessive armpit sweating. Even in normal situations, armpit sweat is more of a problem compared to sweat in other parts of our body because it does not evaporate as fast as the underarm sweat does. However, when we perspire excessively, the condition is exacerbated.

Why does excessive armpit sweating cause more embarrassment than perspiring elsewhere? When we sweat in the armpits, the sweat doesn’t just stay there. Instead, it pools there and runs down the side of the person. Unnecessary to say, such excessive sweating causes stains perspiration that is visible to his friend and the world. The stains can actually damage your clothes because the stains perspiration caused by your underarm can be difficult to remove. There are some ways to remove stains perspiration from your daily wear. Included here are:

Deterge

Solar power to remove stains.

Use of hydrogen peroxide.

Water with vinegar.

Cream of tartar with aspirin.

Baking powder.

.

The fabric could sometimes suffer from yellowing that is an unwanted side-effect of stains perspiration. If your clothes have yellowed, you could use bleach but keep in mind not to iron your clothes that have become discolored by sweat as the heat will further give stain.

There are times that you removed the stains perspiration but not the odor. So to remove odors, you can soak the fabric in a solution of spoonful of salt mixed in 1 gallon of warm water after washing.

However, the best action to do for stains perspiration is to work on some preventive measures. Use good natural antiperspirant that could help reduce your underarm sweating or wear inexpensive shirts under the outer T-shirt to protect it from getting stains perspiration directly. If you could manage it, carry with you extra shirts so that you could change at least once in a working day course.

Lastly, it is also important to pay attention to too much perspiration if you develop the condition in adulthood because this could be a symptom of thyroid problems or other conditions that may require expert attention. You could therefore always go and consult your physician if you feel that you’re perspiring too much.

Before you attempt to do the tips I have stated above and reclaim your favorite shirts by getting rid of the stains perspiration, I would like to share one final word of advice: avoid “chlorine bleach”. This solution has the tendency to react with proteins present in the sweat and could make the stains perspiration to darken more. You might end up making your underarms and collar brown while attempting to make them white!
